Our bodies were created to be active, however due to many circumstances we as a society have become sedentary. We got to return back to the basics of healthy living, and include structured activity within our daily routine. The Blackshear Fitness program combines a variety of techniques to achieve impressive results with clients. The program uses a training system modeled after the military bootcamp concept. This fitness camp method challenges the participants to employ more muscle groups and perform cardio at the same time. The exercises are more efficient than the traditional means of fitness workouts, and offer more than just a change in physique but an actual change in their overall fitness capacity.


Click to enlarge Roger Blackshear- Roger Blackshear (founder of Blackshear Fitness) has been an accomplished athlete and certified personal trainer (National Council for Certified Personal Trainers) for the past 20 years. Before becoming a personal trainer, Roger was a promising high school wrestler; where he wrestled for the Junior Nationals and Junior Olympics. Roger went onto becoming El Camino Junior College's All-American, transferring to Long Beach State; where he received Most Valuable Wrestler, later advancing to the nationals, then trying out for the U S Olympic Team in 1984. With football being Roger's other passion, in 1991 he decided to pursue a career in football, playing for professional minor and semi-professional league teams such as Ontario Storm, California Bears, and California Generals in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. In 1993, Roger founded Athletes in Motion, where he initially assisted college and professional football players by training them to improve their sports performance, later evolving into a sports management agency. In addition to training, he represented football player hopefuls. Athletes in Motion successfully represented many men in their pursuit of becoming professional football players such as Alfred Jenkins (Minnesota Vikings), Paul Peters (New York Jets), and Solomon Miller (New York Giants). Currently Roger established Blackshear fitness and trains high profile private clients; and conducts fitness camps located in Los Angeles, Redondo Beach, Malibu and Huntington Beach. Roger also offers various online training and nutritional planning services through his website.


Click to enlarge Sam Villalta - Samuel Villalta (co-founder) is a certified personal trainer (International Sports Sciences Association) with over 6 years experience. Sam began his fitness quest in the year of 2002 when he became his first success story. Sam went through a complete physical transformation after losing 100 lbs in a span of a year and a half. After his weight loss, Sam started his personal training career at 24 hour fitness sharing with others the secret to his success. Sam has become an avid soccer and Ice hockey player, Kenpo Karate Student, 2005 L.A Marathon finisher and is currently training to do his first half Ironman. Living by the principle, that all things are possible through God who gives you strength, Sam has applied his discipline to the classroom and has completed his Master of Business Administration degree this past spring. Fueled by his passion for physical fitness and compassion for people, Sam strives to reach people of all fitness levels and encourages them to take that first step towards their fitness success.
